The Philadelphia Photo Arts Center is very pleased to host a free lecture with visiting artist Daniel Gordon. Gordon will discuss his large color photographs and unique process of creating photographic collages that are arranged in three dimensional spaces and then photographed. Gordon’s work is in PPAC’s current exhibition Wall Space. Gordon received a Bachelor of Arts from Bard College in 2004, and an MFA from Yale School of Art in 2006. He has exhibited his photographs in solo exhibitions at Zach Feuer Gallery and Leo Koenig Inc. in New York City and Claudia Groeflin Gallery in Zurich. He has been included in exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the CCS Museum at Bard College, Gallery 400 at the University of Illinois, and this year his work was featured in Greater New York at MoMA P.S. 1. Gordon is the Author of Portrait Studio (onestar press, 2009) and Flying Pictures (powerHouse Books, 2009). Gordon was recently a Visiting Lecturer in the photography department at Sarah Lawrence College. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
