The Print Center is hosting its 86th Annual Competition for Photography

Deadline for entries is October 19th

The Print Center’s Annual International Competition is one of the most prestigious and oldest competitions in the United States. Alternating yearly between printmaking and photography, it provides a unique opportunity for local, national, and international artists to compete in a forum which emphasizes individual talent and expressiveness.  The Print Center is particularly interested in highlighting artists who utilize photography in intriguing ways, both in terms of content of the imagery and process in which it was made.  Artists whose work pushes the boundaries of traditional photographic practice are encouraged to enter.
This year’s juror is, Jennifer Blessing, Curator of Photography, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum,  New York. Most recently Blessing organized Haunted: Contemporary Photography/Video/PerformanceandCatherine Opie: American Photographer. In addition to curating photo-based exhibitions, she is responsible for developing the museum’s photography collection. Her next project is the exhibition and catalogue, Rineke Dijkstra: Retrospective.
