We have some amazing news to share with you! This year, PPAC will expand its contemporary photography exhibitions with auxiliary programming and public art works thanks to a $100,000 matching grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as a part of its Knight Arts Challenge!
Matching this grant will enable PPAC to produce four multidisciplinary exhibitions that will take photography past the gallery walls to become an immersive and participatory experience so that everyone can take part!
The most expansive of these programs is everyone’s favorite, Philly Photo Day 2013, when everyone in Philadelphia is invited to take a picture on October 18th and all – thousands – are displayed in the resulting exhibition. This year, with your help, PPAC will create as many as 20 digitally-produced photo-murals in collaboration with local community centers and the city’s Mural Arts Program. Also, back by popular demand, we will display 40 photographs on billboards through out the city! One of them could be yours!
PPAC is excited for this chance to increase its public engagement and expand its exhibition programming. However, in order to earn the Knight Arts Challenge grant PPAC must first match the funding through generous donations from people like you. Please take a moment to donate to Philly Photo Day and help us meet the challenge!
If you have already given to Philly Photo Day 2013, thank you! So far, we have raised $6,000 toward our goal of $75,000 to match the Philly Photo Day portion of the Knight Arts Challenge grant!
With your tax-deductible donation of $100, $50, or $25, PPAC can print and display all the photos that make up the Philly Photo Day exhibition. Your gift extends our reach, spreading Philly Photo Day images onto murals, billboards, and galleries all over the city. And with the Knight Arts Challenge, every dollar you give is doubled!
