Please join us for the opening reception for the Philly Photo Day 2013 Exhibition this Thursday, November 14th, from 6-9pm. This year’s exhibition will be held at a satellite location, 120 N. 3rd Street, in Old City. The exhibition will be on view until December 28th.
PPAC received over 1,500 submissions this year and as a part of the exhibition, PPAC will produce as many as 60 works of public art. Teaching artists will collaborate with community center participants to design up to 20 of the city’s first digitally produced photo murals in conjunction the city’s Mural Arts Program. An additional 40 images will be selected and placed on billboards for the month of December. The details of these public works will be released shortly.
On Friday, October 18th, PPAC and the entire city celebrated Philly Photo Day 2013, a FREE city wide event. Everyone in the city was invited to take a photograph anywhere in Philadelphia and submit it to be included in a vast exhibition to create an immense portrait of Philadelphia. This is the 4th year of the project.
